Three Hills Challenge

The weather forecast was not good & boy!, did the 'Met. Office 'get it right! Shortly before the start of The Race the rain came, but it did not deter the athletes at all. The conditions underfoot were muddy & slippery & the river crossings were getting increasingly deeper but to see the (mainly) smiling faces of the runners made it all worthwhile.

The 1st male runner home, completed the 10 mile course in 1h 08m 55s which although not a course record was a very good time. He was Michael Robinson of the appropriately named club - Mud Crew Trail Runners! Within the day there were 3 other challenges:- The 3.5 mile Mini Challenge won by Jamie Barnett of Teignbridge Trotters in 25m 32s The 1.5 mile Fun Run won by Josh Comer of Taunton in 10m 02s. The Tuckers Arms Relay Team each ran a 1 mile section to raise money & awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy - a genetic Muscle weakening disease. All the results can be found on the Axe Valley Runners web site - The committee would like to thank everyone involved in making this day so successful, - the Landowners, the refreshment ladies (& those who supplied homemade cakes & hot soup to revive the cold & tired) and especially the Marshals who stood around for along time in the cold & wet, allowing safe passage of the runners. The runners are always very complimentary about the Dalwood 3 Hills & it could not happen without you all - thank you
